22-hour water cutoff in Valenzuela, Malabon starts Saturday


MANILA, Philippines - A 22-hour water service interruption will hit parts of Valenzuela and Malabon cities starting Saturday evening due to repair and maintenance works, a water concessionaire said Thursday. In an advisory, the Maynilad Water Services Inc. said affected areas in Valenzuela City are: Malinta, Karuhatan, Rincon, Pasolo, Arkong Bato, Palasan, Polo, Poblacion, Pariancillo-Villa, Balangkas, Bisig, Tagalag, Marulas, Isla, Malanday, Coloong, General T. de Leon, Veinte Reales, Dalandanan, Maysan, SM City-Valenzuela, Calalang General Hospital, Hernandez Hospital, Obando Water District, Meycauayan Water District, Polo General Hospital, San Miguel Corporation, Cosmos Bottling Corporation, and Valenzuela General Hospital. While in Malabon, the villages of Maysilo, Santolan and Panghulo will be affected by the water cutoff. Maynilad said the service interruption from 9 p.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday is due to the interconnection of the 200-mm and 450-mm line to the existing 900-mm mainline along McArthur Highway corner Pio Valenzuela street in Valenzuela City. It said the repair and maintenance works are part of Maynilad’s continuing program to upgrade and improve its service to customers in these areas. It advised affected customers to store water good for the duration of the water service interruption and call Maynilad Water Hotline 1626 for inquiries. - Amita Legaspi, GMANews.TV
