'Second honeymoon' for Manny and Jinkee Pacquiao

“Laging honeymoon, halos everyday – kapag walang fight ha!” This was how Jinkee Pacquiao, the wife of Sarangani Rep. and Filipino boxing icon Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, described their relationship.  The two are in the United States as Manny prepares for his upcoming boxing match against undefeated American boxer Timothy Bradley on June 9 (June 10 in the Philippines). A report of GMA News' Chino Trinidad on May 29 said Manny’s morale was greatly boosted by the presence of Jinkee and their children. For the first time ever, Jinkee also joined Manny as he trained in Los Angeles (LA), California. At the Griffith Park where Manny runs everyday with his team, Jinkee said: “First time ko kaya dito. Sa tagal ko na sa LA ngayon lang ako [nakapunta dito].” According to a recent report of Philboxing.com, Jinkee made a "stunning entrance" as she arrived in late April at the Shape Up Boxing Gym in Cooyeesan Hotel where Manny was training.  The report described Jinkee as wearing a "striking red blouse and black shorts, Louis Vuitton wedge on her feet worth P70,000, three gold medal bracelets on her right arm worth P50,000 each and a blue Hublot watch on her left wrist worth P1.9 million." Jinkee took time out from her full schedule,"supervising the almost complete construction of the family hotel in General Santos City named Road House," the report said. Much better shape Meanwhile, Trinidad's report said Manny's trainers noticed that the Philippine champ was in a much better shape than before, having given up vices that caused him sleepless nights. Manny trains six days a week. Trinidad said the eight division world champion did not show any signs of weariness even in his afternoon training session.
Manny was all smiles even after going through 30 practice rounds per training station aside from an 11-round training with mitts.

Trinidad also reported that Manny has already recovered from the thigh muscle pain he experienced recently.

On "Jimmy Kimmel Live"

When he appeared as a special guest on the American talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live" recently, Manny shared how he managed to stay away from vices that caused him stress in his previous matches. According to Boxing.com, Manny's visits to the show before his fights has already become a "tradition of sorts." "They spoke about the possibility of Pacquiao fighting Floyd Mayweather in the future, which has become a tradition of sorts as well," Boxing.com said. The report said Manny also spoke about his "religious conversion, how it has changed his life, and how his tempest in a teapot comments regarding same-sex marriage were misconstrued."

"After repeating that he has given up gambling, drinking, womanizing and cockfighting—the last two, for the uninitiated, are not synonymous—Manny said, “I’m reading the bible, and I found out how to obey and to follow the commandments of God,” the report said. An inspiration

Manny has become an inspiration to many, and one of his latest admirers is a four-year-old Filipino-American boy who is battling a stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer.

Earlier this month, Andre Ilano, who just underwent chemotherapy, watched Manny train in the University of Southern California track.

According to a report on GMA News TV's "News To Go," Ilano learned to box by watching Manny's fights on TV.

Manny, who has a soft spot for children being a father of four, hugged Andre and took pictures with him after his training.

In return, Andre showed his boxing skills to Manny.
Bradley expects to win

Meanwhile, Bradley who is the WBO Light welterweight champion said in a report of GMA News' “Saksi” newscast, said he respects Pacquiao but expects to win.

“I’m going to look myself in the mirror, [I see] someone who’s hungry, and determined, someone [who’s] as fast. I can punch hard as well and condition? [I’m a] well conditioned athlete,” he assured.

Team Pacquiao will be moving to Las Vegas next week for the final preparations for the fight. - Andrei Medina, VVP, GMA News
