Manny Pacquiao goes 'Gangnam style' in US show

Just when you thought Saranggani Rep. and Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has done it all, he surprises once again, doing the popular “Gangnam Style” dance during the special US episode of his variety show “Manny Many Prizes” (MMP) on September 16.   The 33-year-old boxer, billionaire, singer, businessman, politician, television host and preacher added dancing to his plethora of talents when he danced the internationally viral Korean-pop song,“Oppa Gangnam Style” during the show.   Dancing with Pacquiao were his co-hosts Paolo Contis, Gladys Guevarra, Rhian Ramos, Solenn Heussaff, Onyok Velasco, and Pekto.   The special show, held at the Gibson Theatre, Universal Studios Hollywood, California, was part of the seventh anniversary of GMA Pinoy TV. Oppa Gangnam Style   “Oppa Gangnam Style,” a 2012 single by South Korean rapper PSY, roughly means "living life with swag." His music video shows him doing dance moves similar to riding a horse.   First aired on July 15, "Oppa Gangnam Style" has garnered international recognition after being shared by US celebrity-singers like T-pain and Katy Perry.   Its original YouTube video currently has close to 200 million views.       Pacquiao-Marquez 4   Meanwhile, Pacquiao’s next fight has been decided.   According to an earlier report of Reuters, Pacquiao will be facing long-time rival Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico on December 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.   The two fighters last met in November last year when Pacquiao beat Marquez with a controversial majority decision.
Pacquiao (54-4-2, 38 knockouts) has fought just once after his fight with Marquez, surrendering his WBO welterweight title on a hotly disputed split decision to American Timothy Bradley in Las Vegas in June. Marquez (54-6-1, 39 KOs) and Pacquiao are renowned for their aggressive approach in the ring and have fought to a draw when they first met in May 2004.   The Mexican then lost his WBC super-featherweight title to the Filipino in a controversial one-point split decision in March 2008. Ten months ago, Pacquiao was tested to the full in their third encounter before narrowly retaining his WBO welterweight title after his preparations had been hampered by various distractions, including marital difficulties. - with a report from Reuters, VVP, GMA News
