Jessica Sanchez to be part of PHL Walk of Fame

Plans are already in progress to include the name of "American Idol" Season 11 runner-up  Jessica Sanchez in the "Walk of Fame" at the Eastwood City Gardens in Libis, Quezon City.
In a report of Cata Tibayan on GMA Network's “24 Oras” newscast, Sanchez said she was overwhelmed by the idea of having her name on the Walk of Fame.

“I’m surprised by this I’m just like I can’t even process this right now but that’s definitely awesome,” Sanchez said.

“I would love to meet him some day and actually thank him personally,” Sanchez said of Kapuso host German Moreno, who spearheads the Walk of Fame project.

The Walk of Fame in Eastwood is the counterpart of the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. It is a tribute to the Filipino celebrities who have exceptional contributions to Philippine entertainment
The entertainment site pep.ph said the Walk of Fame includes the names of Luz Valdez, Marita Zobel, Liberty Ilagan, Robert Arevalo, Rustica Carpio, Elizabeth Ramsey, Coney Reyes, Gloria Sevilla, and Pilar Pilapil. The other stars whose names are on the Walk of Fame are Ai-Ai delas Alas, Eugene Domingo, Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Carmina Villarroel, Iza Calzado, Carla Abellana, Lovi Poe, Rhian Ramos, Marvin Agustin, Sam Milby, and Heart Evangelista.

‘Excited’

The 17-year-old Sanchez, whose mother hails from Bataan province, has been in the Philippines since Tuesday. She said she is enjoying being in the Philippines and is excited to perform for her Filipino fans on September 21 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City together with the other "American Idol" top 10 finalists.

This will be the group's final show of the "American Idol" live tour this year. Finalist Hollie Cavanagh said, “It’s probably going to be one of our best shows coz it’s our last show. So I think all of us are going to give everything we have.”  Learning Tagalog

Meanwhile, "American Idol" Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips and second runner-up Joshua Ledet have been learning some Tagalog lines.

“Mahal ko kayo, Kapuso,” said Phillips.

On the other hand, Ledet said, “I learned mabuhay, I learned mahal ko kayo lahat and I learned sala-salamat.”

He also mentioned that he wants to live in the Philippines because he enjoys the warmth and friendliness of the Filipinos.

He also said he wanted to learn the ‘Beki’ way of speaking.

“Hi, how are you? Oh, ‘chos!’” he said in jest.

Ledet also showed his ‘Gangnam Style’ and ‘Teach me how to Dougie’ dance moves.

“Put your arms down girl!” he instructed while dancing with Tibayan.

Pinoy food

Meanwhile, Sanchez had corned beef, lumpia, and longganisa for breakfast.

She also said she won’t miss the chance to taste the Philippine delicacy balut (boiled fertilized duck embryo).

“DeAndre’s tried it, he said he liked it a lot. So I definitely want to try it,” said Sanchez of her boyfriend DeAndre Brackensick, one of the "American Idol" Season 11 top 10 finalists. Pacquiao or Marquez? On boxing, Sanchez, a Filipino-American-Mexican, was asked who she will be rooting for: Filipino boxing icon and Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao or “The Dynamite” Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez.
The Pacquiao- Marquez bout will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 8 (December 9 PHL time). It will be the fourth time that the boxing rivals will face each other in the ring.
“I’m like all about Manny Pacquiao. Manny was so friendly to me and I can’t wait to meet him again,” Sanchez said. - VVP, GMA News
