Passport applicants may now relay their concerns to DFA via email

Passport applicants may now relay their concerns to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA)'s consular affairs office by sending an email to the Office of Passport Director: passportconcerns@dfa.gov.ph.
The DFA said this is part of its efforts to provide the public with efficient services and address their passport-related concerns.

"Through this new email address, passport-related queries, complaints, comments and even suggestions could be brought to the attention of the DFA," the agency said in a news release
Shorter waiting period
Meanwhile, the DFA said Filipinos applying for passports can now expect a shorter waiting period to have their applications processed, following "significant improvements" in the electronic Passport (ePassport) systems and operations at the ePassport Personalization Center.

"(T)he turnaround time for the personalization of the ePassport booklets has been shortened, thereby ensuring a faster delivery of the ePassport booklets to all Philippine Foreign Service Posts," the DFA said in a separate news release.

Since Nov. 5, the turnaround time for ePassports applied at Philippine embassies and consulates abroad is now four weeks after date of application, the DFA said.

For ePassports applied at DFA consular offices in Metro Manila, the releasing schedule is at seven working days for express processing and 15 working days for regular processing.

Applications at regional consular offices (RCOs) will have a releasing schedule of 10 working days for express processing and 20 working days for normal processing. - VVP, GMA News
