Police recover documents of 3 OFW victims of 'salisi' modus

Police have recovered documents of two of the three overseas Filipino workers who fell victim to the "salisi" modus in Pasay City last week.

A report on Unang Balita said the documents were found by a vendor at the Mega Q-Mart in Cubao, Quezon City.

Authorities, however, have yet to recover the OFWs' P80,000 cash, nine cellular phone and other belongings.

Police are still looking for the female suspect, only known as Gabriel Rut, who the victims met at the airport the day they arrived from the Middle East.

The suspect posed as an OFW and convinced the victims to share a hotel room with her while they were waiting for their flight to General Santos City the next day.

The OFWs went to a mall with the suspect, who convinced them again to leave their cellphones and cash warning them of snatchers.

While at the mall, the suspect left the three OFWs and said she will withdraw money from an ATM. The suspect did not return.

By the time the OFWs returned to the hotel, they discovered that the suspect had looted their belongings.

The Pasay City police encouraged the public to give tips or possible leads to the whereabouts of the suspect at (02) 831-8070. —Rie Takumi/ALG, GMA News
