New assemblymen for ARMM proclaimed


MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday proclaimed the new assemblymen in the areas the composed the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) based on the counts of provincial board of canvassers. In the former province of Shariff Kabunsuan, Roonie Quesada Sinsuat of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMB) lead the three winners with 137,479 votes, followed by Cahar Pendat Ibay and Abdulradzak Dagalangit Tomawis, who got 121,129 and 116, 614 votes, respectively. Counting in Shariff Kabunsuan was finished 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. In Tawi-Tawi, Rejie Maguiso Sahali, who is also from Lakas-CMD, emerged as the leading winner with 82,734 votes, followed by independent candidates Mustapha Joe Omar, with 68,531 votes; and Nur-Mahadil Kingking Ahaja, 59, 793. Counting in the province was finished 10:18 a.m. In Basilan, independent candidate Rajam Mutamad Akbar, together with fellow independent candidate Nasser Amin Asarul and Nacionalista Party’s Juhan Sabbihi Hataman were proclaimed winners as of 1:29 p.m. Wednesday. As of 2:20 p.m., Maguindanao provincial board of canvassers declared as winners Umbrah Ampatuan Datumanong with 185, 467 votes; and Lakas-CMD candidates Khadafeh Gaguil Mangundadatu (181, 054) and Pike Terando Mentang (172, 164). In Sulu, declared as new assemblymen for the 1st district were Lakas-CMD candidates Nivocadnezar Talib Tulawie (69,059), Rizal Ansong Tingkahan Jr (82, 112), and Nahil Maldisa Hadjail (5,4871). On the other hand, Benshar Sali Estino (51, 574), Naushurper Tulawie Daud (50,992), and Abdel Angkula Anni (50,407) were proclaimed winners for Sulu’s 2nd distict. Lanao del Sul, Jeha Racman Alonto Adioing, Samer Umpar Makil and Suhalya Maniri Salic were proclaimed winners in the 1st district; for the 2nd district it was Rasmia Romato Salic, Balindong Alonte Yasser, and Alexander Boloto Malawani. - GMANews.TV
