Man cuts off own penis after spat with girlfriend

MANILA, Philippines – In a fit of anger after a quarrel with his girlfriend, a young man cut off his penis in Sultan Kudarat town in Shariff Kabunsuan province Sunday night, a radio dzRH report said late Monday. The 21-year-old man, whose identity was withheld by police, went home angry after a spat with his girlfriend. He went to his room with a knife and cut off his penis. His relatives heard him screaming as he emerged from his room holding a bloodied knife in one hand and his severed penis in the other. His relatives rushed him to the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center, but doctors failed to immediately reattach the organ.
