Hashish being peddled in tourist spots – PDEA official


LA TRINIDAD,Benguet Hashish, a hallucinogen extracted from hemp, may be among the illegal substances being peddled in tourist spots, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). This was revealed on Sunday by Roberto Opena, head of PDEA's Task Force Alpha Northern Luzon Area Unified Cluster. According to Opena, drug groups have abeen targeting foreign tourists going to Sagada in the Mountain Province, Subic and Angeles in Pampanga, and even Boracay Island in Aklan. Just the night before TFA agents caught three men selling hashish to foreign tourists in Sagada, Opena said. Jailed wene Francis Fred Pecdasen Page-et, 28; Vincent Lomaso Navarro, 32; and Edwin Carlos Kiaki Datoc, 21 – all of Sagada. Agents seized 13 bricks of hashish from the suspects. Each brick costs about P25,000 each, making the haul worth P325,000. - GMANews.TV
