Threats to upload lover’s naked pics on Internet lands man in jail

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – Police in this northern province have arrested a male nursing student Tuesday for threatening to make public his former girlfriend’s nude photos in exchange for sex. Acting on a complaint of a 21-year-old female nursing student, members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) immediately planned for an entrapment operation against the male student who was alleged to have repeatedly used the complainant’s nude photos as leverage for blackmail. The suspect was identified as Orlando “Jojo" Laya, 38, married and a resident of Ibung, Villaverde this province. According to the victim who only wants to be called May, Laya made threats that her nude photos, which was taken from his cell phone, will be uploaded on the Internet if she would not have sex with him every time he wanted to. Talking to GMANews.TV, May said: "I wanted to end the relationship when I found out that he (Laya) is already married but he told me that he will upload the photos on the Internet if I refuse to have sex with him." "Naiiyak na lang po ako sa tuwing ginagalaw ako ni Jojo (I can only cry everytime Jojo abuses me)," she continued. But the suspect’s most recent threats proved to be the last straw as the victim decided to seek help from Major Noel Aliño, chief of CIDG’s Nueva Vizcaya office. Laya, who reportedly planned to abuse the victim again, was caught while about to enter her apartment in Solano town’s Quirino village. Recovered from him was his cell phone with numerous naked photos of the victim, the victim’s wallet and keys to the apartment which he allegedly took as his assurance that she will show up. Aliño said the two are presently enrolled as nursing students in Solano town. May is finishing her last semester while Laya is a second courser who plans to follow his wife who works in Canada.
