Lady cop dies in Scout Ranger training in Tuguegarao

TUGUEGARAO CITY — A policewoman who joined the Scout Rangers' Training Course died Wednesday afternoon, apparently due to exhaustion, after a series of grueling exercises at the Camp Marcelo Adduru training ground in Barangay Allimanao Hills in this city, a belated police report said. Chief Superindent Benedict Michael Fokno, Cagayan Valley regional police director, confirmed to GMANews.TV the death of Police Officer 1 Marilou Limos of the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Quirino Province, but did not elaborate on the cause of the death “pending the results of the autopsy report." The Regional Investigation and Detection Management Division (RIDMD) found in their investigation that Limos suddenly fainted around 7 a.m., while participating in the “Team Run," a group running exercise and a part of the Modified PNP Scout Ranger Course. Police Superintendent Fernando Cristobal, RIDMD acting chief, said in his report to Fokno that Limos was immediately brought to the Cagayan valley Medical Center in Barangay Carig Sur, but she lapsed into coma. The policewoman was declared dead around 5 p.m. Her remains were brought to her hometown in Cabarroguis in Quirino. The official result of the autopsy has yet to be released by the police. At least 100 police personnel have been undergoing a three-month training on Modified Scout Rangers’ Course at the police command here. — Joel Nueva/LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
