Report: Rebels free captured cop in Zamboanga

Communist New People's Army rebels have freed a policeman who they held hostage after a raid on a police station in Zamboanga del Sur last April, a radio report said Wednesday. A report on Radyo Mo Nationwide said the NPA freed PO2 Faisal Juhaili a month after he was captured during the NPA raid on the Tigbao town police station last April 9. The report on RMN's dxPR Pagadian station quoted NPA spokesman Jorge "Ka Oris" Madlos as saying they released Juhaili upon the request of his family. Madlos was also quoted in the report as saying the NPA found the captive to have no record of violating human rights. The RMN report quoted Juhaili as saying he was treated well although he feared he may not see his family again. — LBG, GMA News
