NDRRMC: 3 Luzon roads impassable as Tropical Storm Gener nears

At least three roads in Luzon were impassable to vehicles as Tropical Storm Gener (Saola) remained a threat to Northern Luzon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said Sunday. In its 6 a.m. update, the NDRRMC said two of the roads are in Northern Luzon, while one is in Palawan in southern Luzon. The three roads are:

- Kabayan-Buguias-Abatan Road, Alapang section in Benguet - Junction of Talubin-Barlig-Natonin-Paracelis Road in Mountain Province - Detour bridge in Barangay Irawan, Puerto Princesa City in Palawan
The roads in Benguet and Mountain Province were closed to traffic due to road repair even as road-clearing operations there are ongoing. Earlier, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Gener may threaten northern Luzon and enhance the southwest monsoon, which will bring rain to southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, especially the western section. — LBG, GMA News
