DepEd: Cebu City, most of province suspends classes for Wednesday

Cebu City and most of Cebu province have declared a suspension of classes on Wednesday due to bad weather conditions from Typhoon Pablo (Bopha). The Department of Education said the suspension covers all levels in Cebu City and most of the province, and only in public schools in Mandaue City. "As of 11:30 p.m. (Tuesday), only Cebu province and Cebu City have declared suspension of classes in all levels on Dec. 5. In Mandaue, (the suspension is) only in public schools," it said on its Twitter account . Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia had said in her own Twitter account that classes are suspended "in Cebu province and Cebu City." In Davao City, meanwhile, the city government said classes are to resume Wednesday after the lifting of Public Storm Signal No. 1 there. "Classes in all levels resume (on) Dec. 5," it said. Typhoon Pablo plowed through Mindanao Tuesday and now threatens Visayas and parts of Southern Luzon. — ELR, GMA News
