3 Chinese drug suspects abducted in Cavite

Three Chinese nationals facing drug charges were taken away by some 20 heavily armed men Wednesday morning while on their way to attend a court hearing in Trece Martires City in Cavite province, a police official said. Citing a report from the Cavite provincial police, Calabarzon police director Chief Superintendent Benito Estipona said the abductors also forcibly took two handguns from the four provincial guards who were accompanying the three. He said the group fled in a white van with plate number WTT 544. The vehicle was later found abandoned at Barangay Aguado in Trece Martires City. The three — Li Tian Hua, Wang Li Na and Li Lan Yan — were charged for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, Estipona said. Pursuit operations were ongoing as of the report. — Gian C. Geronimo/KBK, GMA News
