6 die in tourist bus collision with truck in Baguio


At least six people were reported killed after a tourist bus they were riding figured in a collision with a delivery truck in Baguio City Thursday night.
 
Office of Civil Defense Cordillera officer-in-charge Andrew Alex Uy said an undetermined number of people were also injured, radio dzBB reported early Friday.
 
Uy was quoted in the report as saying the accident occurred along Marcos Highway in Baguio City.
 
An initial investigation showed the bus was going down to Manila via Marcos Highway when its brakes failed and it went out of control.
 
It then collided with a delivery truck that was traveling in the opposite direction.
 
The report said six of the bus passengers were killed on the spot while several people, most of them passengers of the bus, were brought to a nearby hospital.
 
A separate report on Bombo Radyo said the passengers on the bus (AFB-769) had taken part in a field trip.
 
The Bombo Radyo report said as many as 34 passengers of the bus and three helpers of the truck may have been injured in the accident.  — ELR, GMA News
