Passenger killed in Cebu bus crash


At least one passenger was killed while at least eight were reported injured after an allegedly over-speeding passenger bus crashed and turned turtle in Cebu Sunday morning. The Ceres Bus Liner crashed at about 10 a.m. at Barangay Talaga in Argao town, radio dzBB's Cebu affiliate Jasmin Vailoces reported. The report also cited initial information identifying the fatality as one Teresa Ceballos, 45, a midwife. A separate report on Bombo Radyo said the bus was heading for Cebu City from Alcoy town. Investigators are verifying information the bus was speeding and was out of control after driving over a wet patch on the road. The bus driver was brought to the police station, Bombo Radyo reported. The section of the road in which the bus crash occurred is considered an accident-prone area. — DVM, GMA News
