Former Bataan solon dies

Former Bataan Congressman Antonino "Tony" Pascual Roman, 74, died Wednesday morning of multiple organ failure at the Makati Medical Center, the office of his wife reported.

Roman, a member of the 11th, 12th, and 13th Congresses, was the husband of incumbent Bataan Rep. Herminia B. Roman.

Other than serving as a lawmaker, Roman also held various posts in government, including Finance Deputy Minister under Finance Minister Cesar Virata and Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO) Secretary from 2010 to 2012.

His body will lie in state at the Mt. Carmel Church, New Manila, Quezon City until it is brought to Bataan on Saturday. — Patricia Denise Chiu/BM, GMA News
