Piñols sweep 4 posts in N. Cotabato

Sun.Star: FOUR Piñols were elected in various positions in the province of North Cotabato. The Piñols credited their victory to their past performance and platform of governance more than anything else. Among those who were elected is Governor Emmanuel Piñol who ran as vice governor; Bernardo Piñol as congressman for the province's 1st district; Joselito Piñol as mayor in M'lang; and Efren Piñol as mayor in Magpet. The Piñols denied planning to build a political dynasty in the province claiming that their family name has nothing to do with their victory. Bernardo said the people of North Cotabato made their choice based not on their being Pinol but because they have performed well in the past and they have better platforms than their opponents. "Kay ang maayong panggobyerno wala sa apelyido; naa sa maayong programa (good governance is not in the family name; it’s in good programs)," Bernardo said. Governor Piñol said the question on politics is best left for the people to answer. "And I think that the people of North Cotabato have already answered that," said the outgoing governor. He said their candidacy was not born out of their desire to lord over the political scene in their province but because they wanted to help North Cotabato achieve its dreams and aspirations. The Piñols said they can do this better by helping each other like one family.
