Campbell kin to help set up tourism info center

Relatives of slain US Peace Corps volunteer Julia Campbell have pledged support for setting up a tourism information center at Banaue town in Ifugao, where Campbell was killed last April. Sun.Star Baguio reported Wednesday that Banaue Mayor Lino Madchino said Campbell's family assured them of help in establishing the facility. "The family said they would help solicit funds for the construction of the building," Madchino said. He added that the information center will feature a marker dedicated to the slain Peace Corps volunteer, who was killed while hiking near the famous rice terraces last April. Campbell's relatives went to Ifugao earlier this month to attend court hearings on the murder charges filed against Juan Duntugan, a woodcarver who admitted killing Campbell. They also visited the site where Campbell's body was found. - GMANews.TV
