7-year-old girl drowns in private pool in Pagadian City

A seven-year-old girl died of drowning in a swimming pool at a private resort in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur on Monday, an Unang Balita report on Tuesday said.

According to the victim's aunt Jobelen Sandalo, she along with two other companions went to Mt. Palpalan Spring Resort in which she allowed the child to play in the pool.

Minutes after, the victim identified as Jorelyn Gamba was seen drowning in the adult pool.

The caretaker of the swimming pool along with other people in the area tried to save the child.

The victim was given first aid treatment.

However, she was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

Mt. Palpalan Spring Resort officials, on their part, vowed to extend financial assistance to the family of the victim. —Marlly Rome Bondoc/KG, GMA News
