Riverside residents fear rains might erode soil along Apalit, Pampanga river

Locals residing along a river in Apalit, Pampanga have expressed concern that the river was slowly eroding the soil along its banks.

According a report on Unang Balita on Friday, residents feared that continuous rains might aggravate the situation and cause the land where their houses are standing on to finally give way.

Residents have already erected bamboo walls and stacked up sand bags on the side of the lake to keep the soil from washing away and prevent water from further seeping into the land.

They have also constructed a makeshift metal walkway along portions of the riverside that have collapsed, the report said. — Akari Nakano/MDM/KVD, GMA News
