8-year-old girl in Kalibo raped, decapitated

An eight-year-old girl who had been missing for four days was found on Friday noon, decapitated and her left arm severed.

Super Radyo dzBB Kalibo stringer Annielie Bautista reported Saturday morning that the girl's body was found in a grassy area with her head and left arm lying a few meters away.

An initial investigation showed that the girl was last seen on October 24 on the way to the farm to help her father harvest peanuts in the town of Libacao in Aklan province.

But she did not reach the farm and her father's efforts to find her failed.

Authorities said that the victim's body was already in an advanced state of decomposition. They believe that she might have been raped and her attacker could have tried to burn her body.

The report quoted Libacao mayor as saying that he was willing to offer a bounty for the information that could lead to the arrest of the attacker. 

Libacao Police have been ordered to track down the suspect, the report added. —LBG, GMA News
