CAAP: Aircraft crash-lands in Pantabangan, Aurora


A Cessna aircraft with two passengers crash-landed in Pantabangan, Aurora Tuesday afternoon, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said.

In its initial report, CAAP Operation Rescue and Coordinating Center said the aircraft departed at the Lingayen airstrip on a cross-country flight at 10:02 a.m., with an instructor and a student pilot on board.

The crash-landing happened at around 12:30 p.m. at the mountains of Pantabangan.

The ORCC alerted the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the 250th and Air Force Operation, and aircraft accident investigators for rescue, at 1:59 pm.

The 48 Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army was also dispatched to help in the rescue operation, while the Philippine Air Force is on standby checking the weather in the area. — MDM, GMA News
