The report identified the victim Felicisimo Rupinta, who succumbed to two bullet wounds in his head.
His live-in partner, who was wounded in the arm during the ambush, said that the attackers—riding tandem on a motorbike—suddenly pulled shoulder to shoulder with their pick-up and opened fire.
Rupinta died later at a hospital, the report added.
Police are looking at illegal drugs or work-related grudge as possible motives for the crime, citing information that the victim had been suspended for not supporting the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency's anti-narcotic drive. —LBG, GMA News
