Ozamiz cops seize P32-M of suspected shabu

Ozamiz City police seized P32 million worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted Wednesday, Rida Reyes reported on GMA News TV Live.

Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido, head of the Ozamis City police, said they first arrested Butch Merino, who was reportedly a former driver and bodyguard of detained Ozamiz Vice Mayor Princess Nova Parojinog.

Police said Merino was apprehended at a checkpoint and they recovered from him one kilogram of shabu worth P8 million, a firearm, and two magazines.

Merino reportedly identified his supplier as Melden Rabarez, who the police later arrested in an entrapment operation together with a certain Roselyn Walohan.

Police said they seized from Rabanez one kilogram of shabu and cash worth more than P27 million. — Margaret Claire Layug/BAP, GMA News
