Suspected bomber shot by gov’t intel operatives in Sultan Kudarat

A suspected bomber was gunned down by police and military operatives at the boundary of Maguindanao and Sultan Kudarat on Wednesday.

The suspect was about to discharge a grenade in his possession when operatives shot him, Senior Superintendent Raul Supiter, provincial commander of Sultan Kudarat Police, said.

The suspect's body could not be pulled out immediately from the site because of an improvised explosive device left in his tricycle.

The suspect was later identified as Abubakar Upam, alias Tho.

The shooting happened at 7 a.m. along the National Highway of Dansuli, Isulaan.

The Sultan Kudarat Police said they have been receiving bomb threats since last month. —KG, GMA News
