Residents around Mayon ride into danger zone to check on grazing cattle

Residents around Mayon were seen returning to the eight-kilometer danger zone where cattle grazed while the volcano continued to be restive.

According to Raffy Tima's report on "24 Oras", residents rode motorcycles and entered the danger zone to check if their cows were still alive.

"Sabi daw ng iba kasi namatay kaya umakyat kami doon, tiningnan namin. Ngayon nakita namin talagang buhay ang baka, nandiyan lahat," Boyet Nuñez said.

He said the cows were still alive but had nothing to eat as the ash fall affected the grass feed.

"Buhay. Wala nang makain gawa ng 'yung mga abo ba sa taas, bumaba na. 'Yung abo, bumaba na doon kaya mapayat na 'yung iba,"  Nuñez said. —Anna Felicia Bajo and Rie Takumi/NB, GMA News
