Missing 2-year-old girl found dead, possibly raped

Missing two-year-old girl found dead and possibly raped in Tagum City, Davao del Norte according to a report on Unang Balita.

The child was identified as Christine Miole.

"Nakita namin 'yung suot ng bata which is also described by the parents noong nag-report na missing yung bata, nag match," said Police Supt. Ajanette Tirador.

Officials also noted that there was blood found in her private part, which led them to speculate that she must have been raped.

An autopsy will be conducted on the remains to determine the cause of death.

Miole was reported missing last Sunday and her decaying remains was found on Tuesday.

Her father Warlito Miole said they were fast asleep at the basketball court, where the family is staying after their home was demolished last November.

Warlito said a certain "Boy Negro," a member of the Sukarap gang, may be behind the brutal crime.

The Tagum police already identified a person of interest but they declined to identify the suspect as an investigation is still ongoing. — BAP, GMA News
