Sudanese, Pinay partner nabbed in Pampanga drug bust

Police on Saturday morning arrested a Sudanese national and his Filipino partner in a drug buy-bust in Angeles City, Pampanga.

Police identified the suspects as Yasir Merghani and Jennifer Balolong.

Members of the Angeles City Police's drug enforcement unit seized from the suspects 11 P1 million worth of shabu.

Police said at least 11 sachets of suspected shabu, a pair of brown sandals with hidden shabu and a medium-sized plastic containing shabu were seized from the suspects during the operation.

Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects.

Meanwhile, the city police said investigations are ongoing to determine the couple's drug source. —Jessica Bartolome/ALG, GMA News
