Lanao del Norte town mayor’s convoy ambushed; 4 killed

Unidentified gunmen ambushed the convoy of a mayor in Pantao Ragat, Lanao del Norte province, killing four people.

Police said Pantao Ragat town Mayor Lacson Lantud survived the ambush unscathed.

Those killed were his security men including Police Officer 2 Mahid Macalaba, member of the Pantao Ragat Municipal Police Station; Hasanoding Hasim, a retired policeman; Tarapas Saro, a civilian escord and a cetain Khaliq Disamburon of Barangay Lomidong.

The mayor's convoy, including a Toyota Hilux and Toyota Fortuner, were at Sitio Piagma Lapresa, Barangay Cabasagan, when the group was ambushed at around 9:20 a.m.

Police have yet to determine the motive of the attack. —ALG, GMA News
