Journalist shot dead in Davao del Norte by riding-in-tandem suspects


A journalist was shot dead in Panabo City, Davao del Norte on Thursday afternoon by riding-in-tandem suspects.

Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office director Senior Superintendent Alan Manibog said Dennis Denora was shot around 2 p.m. on board his vehicle near a public market in Panabo City.

Denora sustained multiple gunshot wounds in the head while his driver sustained two gunshot wounds in his right hand.

Recovered from the crime scene were three fired bullets and one fired cartridge case of suspected caliber .45 pistol.

The National Union of Journalists of the Philippines Davao Chapter said that Denora was a reporter of SunStar and publisher of a community paper in Davao del Norte. — MDM/RSJ, GMA News
