TV5 news team reported missing in Cagayan after Ompong

[UPDATE: The news team was later found safe, according to TV5 in a tweet.]

Three members of a TV news crew, including its reporter, were reported missing in Cagayan following the onslaught of Typhoon Ompong, Benjie Liwanag reported on Super Radyo dzBB on Sunday.

The incident has already been reported to the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) by the news team's network, TV5, for action.

According to TV 5's Bimbo Santos, they could not contact the three — reporter Romel Lopez, his cameraman and production assistant — for 24 hours already.

Liwanag, citing Santos, said Lopez last reported in Santa Ana, Cagayan.

The incident has also been brought to the attention of the Philippine National Police through its spokesman, Senior Superintendent Benigno Durana. —KBK, GMA News
