Typhoon-hit rice fields in Bulacan still flooded


Two weeks after Typhoon Ompong hit the country, more than 500 farmers in Bulacan are still struggling to  rice fields throughout the province were still flooded as of Tuesday.

According to GMA News' Balitanghali, the huge amount of rainfall released by the most powerful storm to hit the country this year destroyed up to P85 million worth of crops in Bulacan.

The typhoon also took a large toll on the province's vegetable plantation, poultry, and fisheries.

On Tuesday, PAGASA said Typhoon Paeng (international name: Trami) would bring light to moderate rains over Northern Luzon on Friday and may leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday. — with Margaret Claire Layug/BAP, GMA News
