Daughter of slain Tanauan Batangas mayor files her COC

The daughter of slain Tanauan Mayor Antonio Halili has decided to follow her father's example as she filed a Certificate of Candidacy (COC) on Thursday, Marisol Abdurahman reported on State of the Nation with Jessica Soho.

Angeline Halili is seeking the mayoralty post while former City Administrator Herminigildo Trinidad will be her tandem as he aims for the vice mayor position.

Completing the slate are members of the United Nationalist Alliance or UNA who are vying for the posts of City Councilors.

In the 2019 elections, Halili's political opponent is former Tanauan mayor and incumbent Board Member in the Third District of Batangas Alfredo Corona of the Nacionalista Party. — BAP, GMA News
