3 killed in Antipolo police operation

Three suspects were killed Monday when a serving of arrest warrant ended in armed confrontation between them and law enforcers in Antipolo City in Rizal province, police said.

"Nagkaroon ng confrontation during the implementation of the arrest warrant," said Chief Superintendent Villaflor Banawagan, chief of Antipolo Police, in an interview on Dobol B sa News TV.

Banawagan said the operation was to arrest one JR Dispojo alias Tisoy but the suspect and his cohorts allegedly decided to fight it out with the policemen serving the arrest warrant.

He said the group was involved in the illegal drug trade as well as robbery-holdup operations in Antipolo and nearby areas.

Recovered from the suspects were a Toyota Revo and three motorcycles believed to be stolen, as well as assorted illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia and firearms.

Banawagan said Dispojo's group is notorious in Antipolo for their illegal activities.

"Itong si Tisoy marami nang information dito sa Antipolo... na sila ay involved sa robbery-holdup at carnapping," he said. —KBK, GMA News
