Tourists seeking relief from heat, pandemic stress head to Tagaytay

Tourists on Saturday visited Tagaytay and took advantage of the cold weather amid the severe heat being experienced across the country.

According to Katrina Son’s report on “24 Oras Weekend,” this is the first weekend after the National Capital Region Plus was placed under a general community quarantine.

“Para mamasyal at medyo magtanggal din ng stress. Medyo stressed na po ngayon dahil sa ating pandemic,” Meriniza Ferrera said.

(To visit because I’ve been stressed for a long time. I’ve been stressed because of the pandemic.)

A group of youths said they had been planning ride thier bicycles to Tagaytay.

“Malamig po ‘yung hangin dito sa Tagaytay tsaka magandang mga view,” a biker said.

(The air is cold here and the view is great.)

Some tourists, meanwhile, parked at the side of the road, where they could view Taal Volcano.

“Para makaaiwas po sa maraming tao. Tsaka dito po kasi, at least dito, kakaonti lang ang tao tsaka makakapag relax kahit papaano. Kasi kapag sa ibang pasyalaan, medyo marami pong tao,” a tourist said.

(To avoid the crowd. Because at least here, there are only a few people so we can relax somewhat. Other tourist spots are kind of crowded.)

The Picnic Grove and Skyranch were also opened. However, the rides remained closed. — Joahna Lei Casilao/DVM, GMA News
