Infographic: 10 highest-paying jobs in the PHL

(Updated 4:18 p.m., Feb. 15) Being an art director, a geologist, or a metallurgical engineer may not be top of mind when one asks a child what he wants to be when he grows up. But these are some of the best-paying occupations in the Philippines, according to the Department of Labor and Employment.  In a report, DOLE said these occupations have been determined “through the identification of median monthly basic pay and median monthly allowances of time-rate workers on full-time basis in non-agricultural establishments employing at least 20 people in 65 industry groups within the Philippines.”
These salaries, however, are not entry-level wages but are obtained "after years of work experience and after attaining some level of competency, as most employers in the identified industry would require."
But as a heads up, you might be thinking that popular professions such as actors and stock brokers are part of the list of highest paying jobs. They're not.

This is because professionals of these jobs usually don't work with a regular schedule or aren't paid on the basis of an hour. These kinds of jobs aren't covered by the survey according to DOLE in an email to GMA News Online.

Medical doctors who have varied compensations are also not part of the list for their average monthly wage rates only stood at Php22,824.
