Motorbike rider dies in road mishap

A motorcycle rider died while his female back-rider was injured after they figured in an accident at the Mabuhay Rotonda at the boundary of Manila and Quezon City before dawn Thursday.

 

Police are looking into the possibility the victims were racing with other motorcycles before they crashed into an electric post, radio dzBB reported.

 

Police initially identified the fatality as Vandol Valenzuela. His back-rider, Camille Alonzo, was injured.

 

"(Mukhang) self-accident ito, tumama sa poste ng Meralco (Initially it looks like a self-accident where the motorcycle crashed into an electric post)," said SPO2 Ernesto Adajar.

 

But Adajar said their initial findings showed the victims' motorcycle was one of at least three that were racing near the Rotonda area.  — ELR, GMA News
