Britain has found another reason to celebrate the royal family with the birth last week of its newest member, Prince George, the first child of Prince William and his wife Catherine.

 

Big things are expected of the royal infant, who made his first public appearance when he and his parents stepped out of St. Mary's Hospital less than a day after his birth. As one of the country's kings-in-waiting, the baby prince is expected by some 74 percent of Britons surveyed over the weekend to lead the monarchy someday — a definite boost for the popularity of the Windsors, who suffered from a string of divorces and the accident that led to the death of Diana, George's grandmother.
