US Pacific Command confirms North Korean missile launch

The US Pacific Command confirmed that North Korea has carried out another missile launch.

"US Pacific Command detected and tracked a North Korean missile launch" at approximately 2030 GMT Saturday, the command said in a statement which added that the type of missile was still being assessed.

It said the missile was launched near the northwestern city of Kusong and landed in the Sea of Japan.

The statement added "the flight was not consistent with an intercontinental ballistic missile." —Agence France-Presse
