Pacquiao makes weight limit; Algieri given 2-hour grace period

(Updated 8:48 a.m.) Filipino boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao on Saturday made the 144-pound weight limit for his bout with Chris Algieri on Sunday.

Pacquiao weighed in at 143.8 pounds, 0.2 pound below the catch weight, GMA News' Mav Gonzales reported on radio dzBB. His weight had been 141 pounds Friday.

The Filipino champ said he felt good about his condition and was in a good mood Saturday morning.

On the other hand, Algieri weighed in at 144.2 pounds, and was given two hours to bring down his weight to 144 pounds.

For his part, Pacquiao tweeted a photo of him making the weight limit.

Algieri had weighed in at 144.4 pounds in his underwear, and stripped but was still above the 144-lb catch weight.

Algieri exercises in dressing room

Meanwhile, Algieri exercised in his dressing room to make the 144-pound catch weight, GMA News' Gonzales reported.

A photo tweeted by Gonzales showed Algieri trying to shed 0.2 pound.

Earlier on his Twitter account, Algieri posted a photo of his pre-weigh-in breakfast.

On Friday, Algieri also had a haircut so he would "look sharp" on fight night – even bringing in his Las Vegas stylist.
