Jinkee Pacquiao on Manny's victory: 'Worth it yung pagod'

Unlike her mother-in-law Dionesia Pacquiao, Jinkee kept a comparatively low profile in supporting her husband Manny when he defended his welterweight title against Chris Algieri on Sunday in Macau.

In a live interview on "24 Oras" a few hours after the fight, the Sarangani vice-governor accompanied the eight-division champion, expressing pride in his victory.

"Very impressive," Jinkee said of Manny's dominating performance. "Worth it 'yung pagod kasi nakikita naman natin na pinakita talaga ni Manny 'yung kanyang bilis lakas at determination sa fight."

With Pacquiao's convincing victory against the former kickboxer, the possibility of a superfight with undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. is once again on the horizon.

Asked whether she prefers to have Pacman, who is turning 36, to clash with Mayweather or consider retirement, Jinkee left the decision to her husband.

"Pagdating kasi sa bagay na 'yan puwede lang akong magsuggest, puwede lang akong magbigay ng opinion ko," she said. "Pero at the end of the day si Manny pa rin ang masusunod."

"Hihintayin na lang namin kung kailan siya mag-re-retire," she said. — Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
