Pacquiao's message to his kids: 'Mahirap yung boxing, huwag nilang pasukin'

While he has gained acclaim worldwide as a boxer, Manny Pacquiao doesn't want his children to go into "the cruelest sport."

In an interview aired on "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," the Filipino ring icon told the television host that he welcomed his children's presence at ringside for his fight with Chris Algieri.

"Para makita nila kung gaano kahirap ang pinagdadaanan bago ako kumita ng pera," he said.

Pacquiao, who has been fighting since he was 16 years old, said he didn't want his kids to experience the same hardships he had to go through.

"Mahirap 'yung boxing. 'Wag nilang pasukin."

Instead, Manny wants his boys Michael, Jimwell, Israel, and girls Princess and Queen Elizabeth to spend their life serving the Lord in ways other than fighting inside the four corners of a boxing ring.

"Their future is they will serve the Lord."

He added that his life should not be a motivation for his fans to start a career in boxing. Instead, he said it should an inspirational story of how "God can raise someone from nothing into something." — Bianca Rose Dabu/JST, GMA News
