$100 million for Mayweather, $60 million for Pacquiao?

Talks about the possible Manny Pacquiao-Pacquiao Mayweather fight gained steam earlier this week after Top Rank CEO Bob Arum revealed that a group of businessmen, led by CBS Coproration boss Leslie Moonves, are brokering a deal that would put two of the world's greatest fighters on the same ring, probably at the massive Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.

Arum said the negotiation is already in full swing and he expects it to be done early next year. Moonves and Arum sat down on the negotiating table on Tuesday.

Those in the know say that the Mayweather camp is looking at the possibility of splitting the purse with the undefeated American getting $100 million while Pacquiao settling for $60 million — way, way better than the $23 million purse the Filipino ring icon scored from the Algieri fight.

In any case, those amounts represent the biggest fight purse for the two boxers, who have been at the top of the pay-per-view game for the past several years.

Pacquiao's business adviser Mike Konz said they are willing to cave in to whatever condition just to turn the dream showdown into reality.

He, however, remains pessimistic over the latest developments in the negotiation, saying that only Mayweather has the power to declare the possibility of the fight. — STR/JST, GMA News
