Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao returned to the sidelines days for his PBA team Kia on Wednesday, but the playing coach chose not to get into the game.

Pacquiao had played five minutes in Kia's debut game last Oct. 19 against Blackwater, but he has since missed the rest of their games while concentrating on training for his fight against Chris Algieri.

After dispatching Algieri last Sunday, Pacquiao rejoined his team against the Purefoods Star Hotshots.

But after gauging his condition during warm-ups, Pacquiao decided to sit out the game.

"Masama pa, masakit pa 'yung katawan. Hindi natin puwede i-risk," he said. "Kaya naman natin pero 'di natin pinilit. Marami pa namang laro."

Kia has only two more games remaining in the 2015 Philippine Cup. The Sorento will take on Meralco on December 3 and NLEX on December 7, with both matches at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum. — JST, GMA News
