Why Manny Pacquiao is like Shaq, LeBron, according to Tim Cone

Tim Cone has won the most championships in PBA history, but on Wednesday night, he was starstruck by his coaching opponent.

 

The Purefoods coach was taking on Kia, helmed by Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao.

 

"I was just thrilled to shake his hand," said the 18-time PBA champion after leading the Star Hotshots to a hard-earned victory over the Sorento, where Pacquiao serves as playing coach.

 

Cone marveled at Pacquiao, comparing the fighter to NBA stars such as LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal — athletes that are larger than life.

 

"Without a doubt Manny Pacquiao is a freak of nature," Cone said. "He's out there with all of the guys, maybe even on top. Amazing man."

 

After schooling Chris Algieri with six knockdowns in a dominant performance last Sunday, Pacquiao returned to the sidelines to coach, but not play, for Kia.

 

"He showed up three, four days after his fight, that's incredible," said Cone. — JST, GMA News
