WBC boss also pushing for Mayweather to fight Pacquiao

Like the rest of the boxing world, World Boxing Council president Mauricio Sulaiman is also pushing for Floyd Mayweather to finally fight Manny Pacquiao.

 

Mayweather holds the WBC world welterweight and light middleweight titles.

 

"People want to see Pacquiao inside the ring with Mayweather, it is a match that the whole world is awaiting," Sulaiman told wbcboxing.com.

 

"If Mayweather retires without defeating Pacquiao, the question about being the best of the world will linger! There is no other fight in this decade that had been expected for so long."

 

Negotiations between the two fighters have repeatedly broked down in the past, largely due to demands made by Mayweather. But talks are reportedly back on now with top American television executives brokering the deal.

 

Sulaiman is hopeful and is ready to do whatever it takes to make the fight happen.

 

"It is all to do with money and egos, and therefore outside the boxing area. However, we will do everything we possibly can to help make it happen," he said.  — JST, GMA News
