Pangasinan hospital turns medical gloves and vials into Christmas decor

A Pangasinan hospital is hitting two birds with one stone by turning "discarded" medical equipment like vials and medical gloves into Christmas decor.

The Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital made Christmas trees decorated with gloves, dextrose containers and capsules, GMA Dagupan reported.

Not only did the makeshift decor cheer up patients for the occasion, but they also made medical equipment less intimidating to children.

"Napaisip po namin na gloves, helping hand (sa) pedia ward. Gusto namin ma-entice yung mga bata," said nurse Johayle Sulpacio.

The hospital staff made sure the items used as decorations are cleaned and sterilized.

"Maganda naman po yung ginawa nila. Magandang tingnan sa mga tao," said patient Rosiella Villanueva.

Meanwhile, in Anda in Pangasinan, children took part in a "Christmas Around the World" activity, wearing the national costumes of various nations celebrating Christmas.

The activity aims to remind children of the meaning of Christmas - and to learn how to greet one a merry Christmas in various languages. — Joel Locsin/VC, GMA News
