Facebook buys Instagram for $1B
The Facebook and Instagram apps are seen on an iPhone in Croatia on Monday. Facebook said that it will pay $1B in cash and stock for photo-sharing application Instagram, making its largest-ever acquisition months before the no. 1 social media website goes public.
